Marvel's Daredevil

The trailer for the new Netflix series Marvel’s Daredevil came out this past Tuesday, and it is going to be quite the spectacle.  Compared to other titles that Marvel Studios has produced, movies and television shows, Daredevil will very well be the boldest one of them all.  Daredevil show runner Jeph Loeb has stated that the show takes place in the same universe as The Avengers but Daredevil himself is not officially a part of them.  He is, though, going to be one of the members of the 4-person group The Defenders, which will be getting their own 8-part Netflix show after Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist star in their respective Netflix shows.
This show is going to be the darkest and most graphic that Marvel Studios has touched because the character is one of the darkest characters that they can use.  He protects the streets of Hell’s Kitchen, a neighborhood of New York City, which the comic books have portrayed as a dangerous place.  The antagonist of the show, The Kingpin, is a crime lord that deals heavily with drugs, murder, prostitution and everything in between.  Based on the few scenes that are in the trailer one can tell there is going to be some gruesome crime and a lot of blood.  The one subject that the show is going to dive into that Marvel Studios has not touched in any of their movies is religion.  With Daredevil being one of the most religious figures Marvel has, and based off the voiceover in the trailer, religion is going to play a huge part of this show.

With the likes of other Netflix shows, every episode of Daredevil will be released at the same time so that eager fans can binge-watch the entire thing over a short period.  With the show also coming out April 10th lets hope for a Daredevil easter egg in The Avengers: Age of Ultron which comes out in May.  With that being said, Daredevil looks to be the game changer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe while also being one of the boldest new shows of 2015.
